Choral Ensembles
Director: Bret Amundson
There are two choral ensembles at St. Scholastica—the Collegiate Chorus
and Chamber Choir. Collegiate Chorus rehearses and performs light
classics and popular music of all ages. All students are welcome, even
if you have not sung in a choir before. Chamber Choir rehearses and
performs choral masterpieces from all historical periods. Both choral
ensembles are class-based. They may be taken for 0 or 1 credit.
Small Ensembles
Director: Marianne Connelly
Small Ensembles are available to students in all majors by audition.
Required expertise depends on the level of other players in the
ensemble, but some proficiency in sight-reading on your instrument is
necessary. Ensembles meet once a week with times arranged. Registration
is necessary for Small Ensembles. You may sign up for 0 or 1 credit.
Concert Band
Director: Marianne Connelly
Concert Band is class-based with class held twice a week. You may take
band for 0 or 1 credit. To be placed in Concert Band, an audition—an
informal meeting to play a solo or etude and sight-read—with the
director is required. The group is made up of players of varying
experience.
Jazz Band
Director: Marianne Connelly
Jazz Band is class-based with class meeting once a week. You may take
Jazz Band for 0 or 1 credit. Auditions with the director are required.
The group is made up of players of varying experience.
